Trekking Solo Mission

Undertake increasingly challenging solo trekking expeditions in relentless pursuit of expanding physical and mental capacity.

Trekking Solo is committed to supporting veterans’ transition home from wartime experiences through exploration of the natural beauty of the country they served.

The Approach

Trekking Solo operates with a bias towards action aimed at persistent incremental progression over a lifetime. This continuous development of self-efficacy relies on discipline and personal responsibility to identify and overcome each obstacle one by one.

Jeff's Story

Jeff served 15 years in the U.S. Navy as a Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence Specialist. After being diagnosed with PTSD, he was medically retired in 2021. He had limited improvement following the traditional treatments of medication and therapy when it came to managing problems with alcohol, hypervigilance, and sleep. Things started to change when Jeff found that being outdoors—rucking, hiking, and trail running—helped him more than anything else.

In 2025, he wondered if the trail could help him overcome his PTSD symptoms and reconnect with his wife and kids; how much further could it take him? Jeff is now on a mission to find the edge of his physical and mental limits and push them even further.

Navy Veteran Jeff Snyder deployed in 2007.
